The characters are all from the same village who must protect a walled high temple. A character is celebrating a special anniversary.
It is at a haunted ruined keep which is used as a temple by a power of harvest.
There are a family of hungry goblinoids trying to stay undiscovered. And an intimidating wizard seeks to survive a tavern crawl.
At some point they uncover a secret stockpile.
As the adventure progresses a portal slowly starts to open

The characters are all different monsters brought together by unusual circumstances who must recover a fabled helmet. Two of the characters have fallen in love.
It is at an enchanted mage academy which is sacred to a power of music.
There are a group of unfriendly ogres putting up tents. And a woolly rhino wants to recover a runed necklace.
At some point a character has to make a roll to notice something.
As the adventure progresses objects start to talk

The PCs are are chaotic marauders who must investigate the history of a possessed bow. A character is being hunted by a group of raiders. It might involve giants.
There is a treacherous politician who comes with them.
The characters start during an attempted escape. Partway through there is a funeral. If things slow down a magic item develops new powers.
At the end there is a cut-scene of each character.

The PCs are desperate spellcasters who must survive a long coach chase. One or more characters have cursed magic items. It might involve dragons.
There is a young troll who works against them.
The characters start with a fireball. Early on they encounter a challenge to a duel. If things slow down they discover a secret door.
Afterwards there is a reward of a song about their deeds.

The PCs are desperate pirates who must win a race on golems. The mood might be... whimsical
There is a helpful noble who works against them. they are the travel companion of a character.
The characters start in a tense stand-off. Early on there is a wedding. If things slow down there is a murder.
Afterwards there is a family gathering.
